The Bombardier CRJ-550 is the newest member of the CRJ family of regional passenger aircraft. The airliner was developed by the Canadian company Bombardier Aerospace at the request of the airline United. The aircraft based on the platform of CRJ-700, but has a lightweight design by using more modern materials and reducing the number of passenger seats.
The commercial operation of the CRJ-550 as part of the United Express route network began in October 2019. The planes have a layout of 3 classes of service - First, Economy Plus and Economy. Bombardier CRJ-550 became the first triple-class 50-seater aircraft in history.
